Police officer sentenced to 20 years for killing

The police officer who shot and killed motorcyclist Ronald Ssebulime after allegedly trailing the then ICT State minister, Aidah Nantaba, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Corporal David Ssali was convicted of murder on his own plea of guilt after noticing overwhelming evidence against him from prosecution, according to Charles Twiine, the CID spokesperson.

On March 24, 2019, Ssebulime, 40, who was riding a motorbike, was arrested by policemen moving on a patrol following an alarm from Nantaba and her security team. He was handcuffed but shortly news came out that he had been shot dead.
