The Laity Commission Executive in the Diocese of Masaka have thanked the Prime Minister of Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga for his 12 years as head of the Mengo Cabinet. The delegation was led by Msgr. George William Lubega and Head of the Laity, Masaka Diocese Mrs.  Regina Nalubega Kitaka.

They highlighted the priorities the Prime Minister pointed out to the people that have changed their lives including; planting coffee and the Diocese also in its efforts to empower the Parishes ordered every Parish to embark on having a coffee plantation field to enable them to hold raise some income to sustain Parish activities.

Bishop Serverus Jjumba, whose message was delivered by Msgr. George William Lubega, said the Prime Minister has put in place projects that have brought in revenue to the kingdom and that he will be remembered for this.

In his speech, the Prime Minister thanked them for thinking about him in a special way and it’s a good gesture to thank someone who is doing good in the community. He reiterated that his success, is attributed to God, and the people who support him in the policies he delivers to drive the efforts to bring Buganda to the top.

He says God has given him various ideas which he shares with the Buganda Cabinet, debated upon them and implemented in the kingdom. Its God who has given him life an enabled him to serve the Kingdom despite the tiring work.

He thanked the King selecting him among all his subjects and giving him the authority to rule over Buganda which has brought it to glory and recognition in the world.

The officials were accompanied by the Pookino, Mr. Jude Muleke.
