Kabaka bidding Katikiiro Farewell

The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has embarked on a trip abroad for continued medical assessment with his team of international specialists. The visit aims to evaluate the progress of the treatment he has been undergoing, coordinated in part by his local medical professionals.

Addressing the public, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, reassured the Kingdom that the Kabaka’s health is steadily improving. He emphasized that there is ongoing collaboration between the medical teams in Uganda and those abroad to ensure a unified and effective recovery plan.

“The doctors have advised us not to involve him in official duties until they are certain that he is fully fit to resume them,” Mayiga explained, highlighting the need for caution as the Kabaka continues his recovery.

He further noted that the Kabaka made the journey in “good spirits and good health,” a sentiment that reflects the King’s recent public addresses in which he has personally comforted his subjects about his health.

“He continues to improve, and I believe the people of Buganda have seen this too,” the Katikkiro said.

Mayiga reiterated that the Kingdom places the highest priority on the well-being of the Kabaka, acknowledging that his health is central to the stability and strength of the monarchy.

During his 70th birthday celebrations, the Kabaka extended gratitude to those who have prayed for him and expressed appreciation to the medical professionals who have been by his side throughout his treatment journey. His Majesty was escorted to Entebbe International Airport by Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, joined by other high-ranking Kingdom officials, including Prince Crispin Jjunju.
